Plein Air Painters of Utah Highway 89 has long been recognized as a particularly scenic route by nature loving travelers for many decades. It winds its way through rural Utah and surrounding states, passing some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. This year (2023) and beyond, the Plein Air Painters of Utah organization has decided to tackle their favorite spots along this historic country highway with plans to present a unique traveling show to the public at various locations throughout the state. The Plein Air Painters of Utah was originally founded by a few well known artists back in the 1970s and has maintained a small roster of professional members since then. It now has 33 working artists who are recognized either internationally, nationally or regionally as highly accomplished professionals in their field. The Highway 89 Show will move to various locations in Utah during the year. The first stop will be in Brigham City May 26 – June 7, Art on Main at the Hive on Main. Next we will be showing at Brushworks Gallery, 160 E. 800 So., Salt Lake, June 15 - July 5. After that the show will relocate to the Thunderbird Foundation Gallery in Mount Carmel from July 14 – Aug 11. Then the show will head back north and be displayed at the Springville Art Museum November 15 thru mis March 16, 2024. Please join us for an interesting look at Highway 89 through the eyes of each artist in this notable Utah art organization!
